Chelsea winger Mohammed Salah is looking increasing likely to continue his stay in Florence with Fiorentina confident they can extend the loan spell to another season, according to BT Sport.
“We are working on it,” Fiorentina president Andrea Della Valle said to the Italian press. “It’s the crucial day and I’m personally optimistic.
“Of course, in football anything can happen but we will see what the outcome is tonight.”
The Egyptian born wide man spent the second half of the 14/15 season on loan at the Italian outfit after joining the club as part of the deal to bring Juan Cuadrado to Chelsea. He appeared 12 times for the club, grabbing an impressive 7 goals. His performances gained Fiorentina numerous points, helping them to a fourth place finish.
Various reports have linked the man once dubbed “the Egyptian Messi” with a move away from Stamford Bridge, with Fiorentina the most likely destination, despite reported interest from fellow Italian sides Inter Milan and Juventus.
