Chelsea have completed the signing of Radamel Falcao on loan from AS Monaco. The deal had been agreed for some time now, we brought you the news back at the start of June.
Monaco have confirmed via their official website that the Chelsea have an option for a permanent transfer at the end of the loan deal:
“AS Monaco officialises the loan of Radamel Falcao to the English club Chelsea FC for the season 2015-16 with a buy option.”
Speaking to the official Chelsea website, Falcao said:
“I am very happy to be joining Chelsea and can’t wait to start training and help with our aim of retaining the league title and being successful in Europe.”
The Colombian spent last season on loan at Manchester United, but failed to make a serious impact, scoring just four Premier League goals.
Falcao has spent the summer on international duty at the Copa America, which explains the reason for the delay in announcing the deal.
