Chelsea midfielder Josh McEachran looks set to join Brentford later this week, after the 22-year-old reportedly passed a medical with the Championship side on Friday according to Matt Lewis of GetWestLondon.
The Blues’ Dutch feeder club Vitesse Arnhem, where McEachran had a loan spell at last season, revealed Jose Mourinho’s plans to sell the midfielder last week, after confirming that he would not be returning to the Eredivisie next season.
Carlo Ancelotti gave McEachran his debut at the age of 17 and the midfielder seemed to be one of Chelsea’s most promising young talents; signing a five-year deal with the Blues when he was just 18.
However, a succession of loan spells at Swansea, Middlesbrough, Watford, Wigan and Vitesse have seen the England U21 international fall of the radar at Stamford Bridge; with the midfielder last playing for the Blues in January 2012.
And McEachran now looks poised to join Marinus Dijkhuizen’s Brentford, with the midfielder having reportedly signed a four-year deal with the club.
