Transfer Round Up: Isco & Remy

Real Madrid have rejected a £20m offer from Chelsea for the sale of Isco as per the report by John Cross, Darren Lewis of the Mirror.

The Spanish side claim to have turned down the offer because they want to keep the Spanish born midfielder. With ex Chelsea first team head coach Rafa Benitez at the helm, Madrid is one team likely to be unwilling to sell to Chelsea due to the managers long-term grudge against the London side. Isco isn’t the first player linked to the bridge this summer, his team-mate Raphael Varane has also been linked with no love lost between himself and current Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho.

With Oscar’s future always indecisive, the blues may be looking for a replacement for the Brazilian playmaker and Isco is definitely a more than ideal candidate. Instrumental in previous seasons at the Bernabeu it will come as no surprise that Real Madrid aren’t ready to part with the midfielder just yet. However if Isco were to trade sunny Spain for the unpredictable weather in England, it could spell trouble for the rest of the Premier League sides. With Falcao so far being the only incoming transfer, Isco will be a marquee signing for Chelsea and a strong message will have been sent out in their pursuit of retaining the League title.

In other news, Loic Remy has found himself a transfer target for Turkish side Besiktas according to Darren Lewis of The Mirror. Chelsea remain firm that Remy is not for sale. The blues are hoping that will deter any interest from Besiktas who see the Frenchman as a fitting replacement for his predecessor Demba Ba who was recently sold to Shanghai Shenhua. The latter also made the switch from Chelsea to Besiktas. The Turkish based side are looking to succeed in a bid to sign Remy on a season-long loan with a view to a permanent deal.

Jose Mourinho however has already stated Remy is unattainable as he see’s the striker as an experienced and reliable back up for Diego Costa. Although, with the signing of Falcao, Remy may see his chances limited and may be looking to depart this summer in the hope of regular first team football, possibly in a bid to aid his chances to play for France at the European Championships next summer.
