UPDATE!
Leicester have also asked Chelsea for Oriol Romeu as well as Nathan Ake. Ranieri is hoping to land the midfielder on loan according to the Daily Mail.
Newly appointed Leicester City manager, Claudio Ranieri will look to Nathan Ake to replace veteran Esteban Cambiasso at the King Power Stadium next season.
The former Chelsea manager is keen on raiding his former side for the services of the versatile Dutch player, according to John Percy of the Telegraph. Ranieri’s coaching staff have highlighted Ake as a potential transfer target. Ake is available for loan after he was left out of Chelsea’s pre-season tour squad and left in the ‘loan squad’ back at Cobham.
Leicester will reportedly rival Newcastle and Aston Villa to sign Ake on a season long loan. Ake spent the second half of last season on loan at Reading, who have also previously been linked with Ake.
Former Inter Milan midfielder Esteban Cambiasso was the Foxes’ player of the season during the 2014-15 campaign, and has been offered a new 12 month deal. However the club are expecting an official notice this week that the player rejected the deal. Premier League experience could prove vital for Ake to prove his worth at Stamford Bridge.
Would this be a good move for Ake? Let us know your thoughts!
