Jose Mourinho has seemingly put an end to transfer speculation surrounding Loic Remy’s future.
After impressing whenever he was called upon last season, the French striker has interested Premier League interest. Both West Ham and Crystal Palace looked to be favourites for the forward, with a move away looking likely. Mourinho has stated that Remy is in his plans, after scoring important goals for Chelsea last season, he does not want to see the back of him.
According to a report from Steve Brenner of the Gurdian, when Mourinho was asked about the possibility of the striker leaving, he replied: “No chance. It is open competition between the three [strikers]. That’s our objective, that’s why we want three strikers ready and important.
Mourinho went on too add: “Last season Rémy was basically the third forward, but he scored so many important goals for us in crucial moments that gave us crucial points – the goal against Hull City, the goal against Stoke.”
The comments will surely give the striker a boost in confidence and he will be hoping to show his worth during pre-season.
