Radamel Falcao has told ChelseaTV, he expects Juan Cuadrado to have a good season. After arriving in January, Cuadrado has failed to set the Premier League alight.
The Colombian joined Chelsea from Fiorentina for a massive £23.3m with Mohamed Salah heading in the other direction on loan. The addition of fellow countryman Radamel Falcao, could prove to be what helps Cuadrado settle and prove himself on the pitch at Chelsea. Chelsea’s new number 9 said: ‘Juan is a happy person with very good qualities and skills and he only needs time to grow in this club and be important, like he was when playing in Italy.’
He went on too tell ChelseaTV: ‘He is a fantastic player and everybody supports him because all the players and coaches know about his quality. He is so quick over a few metres and I think this season will be a good one for him.’ Falcao also revealed he spoke to his international team mate before joining the club: ‘I talked with Juan before I came to Chelsea but I had decided I would like to join Chelsea some years ago. The media talked about me and Chelsea and it was not possible but this summer finally I come.’
The striker had some words to say about being re-united with former Atleti team-mate, Diego Costa too: ‘He is crazy! And happy. I know him from Atletico and we enjoyed very good times. We shared very good moments and he is a great guy. Among funny moments there, I remember from the cold pool he sent the water over the players – every time!
‘We are used to playing together, and the 2012/13 year was very good for Atletico when we scored a lot of goals. We are different kinds of strikers and we complement each other.’
