Chelsea welcome another player with a history at Atletico Madrid this season through the signing of Radamel Falcao. At the Bridge, Falcao will link up with former Atletico team-mate, Diego Costa.
Costa has been speaking about the potential partnership that the pair could form this season, as reported by Richard Parry of the London Evening Standard. Mourinho decided to play just one striker last season, however, has hinted we could play two this season. During the final stages against Barcelona, Remy and Falcao both played together.
Speaking prior to the Community Shield, Costa said: “It’s been like that throughout my sporting life. It’s good to have competition, it makes you work harder,”
“It’s important to have a partner who is as good as you.” said the Spaniard. Mourinho confirmed after the Barcelona game that playing with two strikers up front could be an option for his side. “They did very well not just to bring the team forward but also with one less player in midfield they closed the spaces in front of the midfield line. We can play with two.”
