Chelsea Tell Spurs to Name Their Price for Danny Rose

Negotiations are reportedly opening for Danny Rose, as Chelsea have reportedly enquired about the full-back from White Hart Lane.

Dave Kidd of the Mirror reports that Jose Mourinho has asked Spurs to “name their price” for the 25-year-old, who has received an England call-up but not yet a cap, and suggests that the Premier League defending champions are prepared to pay £15 million.

Rose would fill a need for depth at the position at Stamford Bridge after the departure of Flipe Luis, and being English, would count towards the Blues’ stock of home-grown players, an important consideration for European competition. Any sale would be reluctant on the part of chairman Daniel Levy, but with Ben Davies having been acquired from Swansea last summer, it is not out of the question for Spurs to do a deal.

A failure to do a deal with Rose would likely seal a deal for Ghanaian international Abdul Baba Rahman, currently at Augsburg and likely to cost around £17 million to land the player from the Bundesliga side.
