Following Chelsea’s first victory of the season, plenty of rumours have emerged about possible deals that could happen between now and the end of the transfer window, which is looming ever closer.
The latest rumour involves the familiar name of Raphael Varane and comes from the Express, since Jose Mourinho’s arrival in 2013, the French defender has been continuously linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.
Varane is seen as one of the brightest prospects around Europe, being a full French international and playing at the highest level with Real Madrid, it is hard to disagree.

After the shaky start to the season, Mourinho is clearly looking to improve and Varane could fill the void that will eventually be left by John Terry. The Blues have conceded 7 goals already this season.
Everton’s John Stones looks to be the primary target for Mourinho, but the Express claims that Chelsea has made an enquiry over the defenders availability.
Both Pepe and Sergio Ramos sealed new contracts during this window, casting doubts over Varane’s short and long-term future with the club.
The lure of regular game time could be enough to make Varane swap Madrid for London.
