Jose Mourinho has won the Champions League, Premier League, La Liga, Serie A and the Primeira Liga to name a few. However, now he’s gone down in history for something a little different.
The Chelsea boss is a new addition to the 2016 Guinness World Records book not just once, but an incredible four times. His legacy will not only have him down as one of the best football managers in history, but this feat will have him noticed worldwide as a world record holder.
The London Evening Standard report that the Portuguese tactician was presented with four framed certificates recently at Chelsea’s training ground in Cobham, after the records he set were finally recognised.
The four world records are as follows:
Conceded the fewest goals (15) in a Premier League campaign. This coincides with the previous record as both records were during the same season.
Unbeaten at home for the most Premier League games (77). This record was set during his first stint as Chelsea boss and also his current spell.
The youngest manager to reach 100 Champions League games. This record, unlike the three mentioned above, was during his reign as Real Madrid manager, in which he was 49 years and 12 days old.
Mourinho has since hung the awards in his office at Chelsea’s training base and had this to say:
The fact that I can hang these awards in my office is nice. It’s something fun and, as a kid, you could never imagine that one day you would be in Guinness World Records Book. I’m now more focused on winning the next game than on what I’ve done in the last 10 or 15 years.
One can only hope that the new record breaker will be able to achieve even more records during his tenure as Chelsea boss, positive ones only though.
