Fiorentina Director of Football, Danielle Prade, has revealed that FIFA will launch an investigation into the Mohamed Salah transfer fiasco, according to the Daily Star.
The Egyptian winger was at the centre of one of Serie A’s most prolonged and controversial transfers this summer, which eventually culminated in a move to Italy’s capital.
After enjoying a successful loan spell with Fiorentina at the backend of last season, Salah was widely expected to extend his stay at La Viola, either by loan or through a permanent transfer for a fixed sum.
Yet to the bewilderment of Fiorentina and their director of football, Daniele Prade, Salah opted to snub Fiorentina’s attempt to renew his loan and signed with Serie A rivals, AS Roma.

Prade:
We could have reclaimed Salah only in January, not in the summer’s transfer window. Nobody could have imagined what the player had in mind during his six months in Florence. I never thought Salah’s mind could have turned that way. I was wrong in saying that I was certain he’d stay with us in January. You never stop learning in this job, I never expected what happened.
While FIFA approved Salah’s loan move from Chelsea to AS Roma, the game’s governing body are still to make a final decision on the transfer as revealed by Prade himself.
FIFA themselves gave Salah only a provisional transfer from here until December, and they’ll make a ruling then.
Indeed it appears a shady area remains over Fiorentina’s claim that they were entitled to sign the player as part of a clause in his loan switch to the club last season.
