Another year, another EA Sports FIFA game. With FIFA 16 just around the corner, they’ve spent this week releasing the ratings for the top 50 players in this years game. With the final set of player ratings released today, George Stokes takes a look at the Chelsea players who feature in this top 50.
I’ll begin from 50 and work my way towards 1st and this takes me straight to John Terry. 44th on the list, John Terry’s terrific double-winning season last campaign has seen his FIFA card go up two ratings this year to an 85 overall, making him the joint 5th highest rated centre-back in the game. With just 34 pace on his card, will you be staying loyal and using our captain this year?

Next up is Thibaut Courtois. 32nd on the list Courtois stays at 86 rated after an impressive season last year for Chelsea. Level with David De Gea in ratings, even the game can’t separate the two and only Manuel Neuer is rated higher than those two, keeping his position as the best goalkeeper in the world right now.

Shortly following Courtois is another Chelsea player who had a huge hand in bringing the title back to London, Diego Costa. Hampered by hamstring injuries seemingly every week, the Spaniard managed to bag 20 league goals on the way to the title. He keeps hold of his 86 rated card for the second year running.

In 16th is Cesc Fabregas. The former-Arsenal man had a brilliant first six months in a Chelsea shirt, and although he faded anyway between January and now, he’s been given a 2 rating upgrade on his card to an 87 rated card this season. With the second highest Chelsea card, does he merit being arguably Chelsea’s second best player according to EA Sports? I’m not so sure.

Of course, Chelsea’s highest rated card for FIFA 16 is Eden Hazard’s new 89 rated card. This makes him the 6th highest card on the game. Having had the best season of his career last year, it was no surprise to see the increase but prior to the release, a number of people predicted a 90 rated+ card.

So, do you agree with EA Sports ratings on the top five Chelsea players? If not, what would you have rated these five, or any other Chelsea player, and why?
