Pedro has revealed that Spanish team-mate and former Barcelona team-mate Cesc Fabregas played a key role in his move from the Catalan giants to Chelsea.
Pedro explained to El Pais, how a phone call from Fabregas helped move the transfer forward.
My transfer to Chelsea was done within a couple of days. It all started with a call from Cesc.
The man just cannot stop assisting! Pedro looked like he was heading to Manchester United, however, it soon became clear to Chelsea fans and Louis Van Gaal, he was heading to London. Both Fabregas and Jose Mourinho himself were influential.
Mourinho then gave me a call and that helped me make a decision. Mourinho made me feel important and gave me confidence.
Pedro could prove to be one of the transfers of the summer at just £21m. The Spaniard opened the scoring on his debut against West Brom, whilst also setting up Diego Costa for Chelsea’s second.
Pedro will be hoping to continue his fine form as Chelsea prepare for Everton away when the players return from international duty.
