Asmir Begovic could be set for just his second Premier League start with Chelsea as they prepare to face Everton this weekend.
Chelsea travel to Goodison Park this Saturday for the early kick off live on TV, a game that will feature John Stones, the man who Chelsea tried to sign in the summer.
After returning unscathed from the international break, Thibaut Courtois has suffered a knee injury in training on Wednesday. Courtois conceded just one goal in the two games for Belgium in the latest round on internationals.
Courtois could potentially be in risk of losing his place in the starting eleven to Begovic anyway, with the Belgian conceding nine goals in just four Premier League games. However, Chelsea will be attempting to succeed in getting Courtois up to match fitness before their game, but the stage looks set for Begovic.
Begovic is a new signing at Chelsea. The Bosnia-Herzegovina goalkeeper signed a contract after a fee of £8-million was reached between Chelsea and Begovic’s former club Stoke City.
