Chelsea technical director Michael Emenalo has defended the clubs loan policy, after it has received widespread criticism for reportedly stockpiling players, according to BBC Sport.
The Blues currently have more than 30 players shipped out on respective loan deals, including the likes of Marko Van Ginkel, Juan Cuadrado and Mohamed Salah.
But Emenalo has defended the clubs somewhat controversial policy after speaking to Chelsea TV. He said:
We have the difficult job of trying to balance being successful with making sure we have the right players at the right time. Sometimes we know there are players whose development is not finished, just like Victor [Moses], who we want to keep with our squad but who maybe needs to play more football to get to the level we think he can get to, because he is very, very talented.

Moses had a relatively successful yet injury ridden loan spell with Stoke City last season, before being one of Chelsea’s brightest players during pre-season – with many tipping him to break into the first-team this season.
However he was sent out on another season-long loan deal to West Ham on transfer deadline day this season, leading to some frustration amongst Chelsea fans, who were keen to see the Nigerian feature at Stamford Bridge this season.
With regards to Cuadrado’s loan move to Juventus this season, Emenalo said it was a decision made so he could “go and rediscover his confidence.”
The Colombia international made the move to Stamford Bridge for £23.3m from Fiorentina in February last season; in a deal which saw Mohamed Salah move to the Serie A side on a short-term loan spell.
Salah, who has been shipped out on another loan move to Italy this season, this time to Roma, scored nine goals in his successful spell with Fiorentina last season, and Emenalo believes his success is a vindication of the clubs loan policy.
These players go to top clubs and when they get there they prove we don’t recruit bad players, just like Salah did last season.
