Chelsea youngster Ruben Loftus-Cheek believes the Blues are feeling confident ahead of Saturday’s clash with Arsenal, following their opening UEFA Champions League win with a 4-0 victory over Maccabi Tel Aviv.
Loftus-Cheek, who was arguably one of Chelsea’s stand-out performers on the night, said everybody is “feeling good” after the win, in an interview with Sky Sports.
Goals from Willian, Oscar, Diego Costa and Cesc Fabregas gave Jose Mourinho’s side a much needed victory, after a slow start to the Premier League season.
The Blues also kept their first clean sheet of the season against Maccabi, with Asmir Begovic rarely called upon in the Chelsea goal.
And Mourinho will be hoping his side can build on the victory when they host London rivals Arsenal in the early Premier League kick-off, on Saturday 19th September.
The Gunners have enjoyed a reasonably positive start to their Premier League campaign, but made the worst possible start on matchday one in the Champions League.
Arsene Wenger’s suffered a 2-1 defeat away against Dinamo Zagreb, with Olivier Giroud also receiving a red card.
