Jose Mourinho today spoke to the press ahead of this weekend’s London derby against Arsenal. The game will be full of talking points, especially after Chelsea’s poor start in the league, which has left them sitting uncomfortably in 17th place.
It will also be the next chapter in the entertaining relationship between Jose Mourinho and Arsene Wenger, who have never really seen eye to eye. Wenger has never beaten Mourinho in the Premier League, something Mourinho will be hoping to continue.
The game is also Petr Cech’s first game at Stamford Bridge, as a visitor. The goalkeeper will undoubtedly play a major part in how the game pans out.
Mourinho confirmed Willian is out of the game, but others including Pedro and Oscar are doubtful but may be available.
After praising the mid-week performance, attention turned to Chelsea’s record against Arsenal. Mourinho insists the record does not mean anything.
The subject of questions then turned to Petr Cech:
When the game is over, the door of our dressing room is open to him.
Mourinho admitted he is backing Eden Hazard to re-discover his form. He said he is still the best player in England and will be taking Chelsea’s next penalty. He even had a little joke.
Maybe it was an agreement with some sponsor to promote the Rugby World Cup.
