Some said that the international break came at a good time for both Jose Mourinho and Chelsea. Well, it looks like Mourinho’s luck is running thin, according to London24, both Nemanja Matic and Ivanovic came off for Serbia last night, injured.
The news comes following Serbia’s 2-0 victory over Albania in the European qualifiers. Serbia captain, Ivanovic only managed to 65 minutes at centre-back rather than his usual right-back slot.
Matic did not last much longer, he was taken off just eight minutes later. The extent of both the injuries isn’t clear yet. Neither of the two Serbians have been performing well for Chelsea this season and this could force Mourinho to make a number of changes when Chelsea face Aston Villa after the international break.
The pair’s injuries clearly did not phase Serbia, as they eventually ran out 2-0 winners through goals from Alexander Kolarov and Adem Ljajic
