Chelsea need to give Falcao a run of games says defender

Chelsea forward Radamel Falcao needs to play more if he is to rediscover his goal-scoring form, suggests Atletico Madrid defender Diego Godin.

According to InsideFutbol, who quote AS,  Godin believes his former Atletico team-mate needs to play consistently for The Blues to improve his confidence in front of goal.

The Colombian striker was widely regarded as one of the best strikers in world football during his time with Atletico, scoring 68 goals in 86 appearances in all competitions for the Spaniards.

And the forward looked to have carried his impressive form over to France after he made the £52m move to Monaco in 2013; scoring 11 goals in 20 games for the Principality.

However, Falcao has struggled to rediscover his goal scoring form after recovering from a knee injury.

Following a rather unsuccessful loan spell last season at Manchester United, the striker was again sent out on loan to the Premier League; this time to champions Chelsea.

But the Colombia international has scored just one goal in nine appearances for the Blues; though Godin believes it is just a matter of time before he starts scoring once again.

He said:

At the moment he’s looking for that confidence he had before his injury. He’s at a big club and he’ll get a run of games, and then the goals will come.
