Chelsea fans attacked in Kiev

According to the Daily Mail around 30 Chelsea fans were attacked in a bar last night.

The report states the group were ambushed by fans masked with balaclavas just moments after they had left a bar in Independence Square. It is believed the attack was unprovoked and it left one needing hospital treatment.

The group of Chelsea fans were made up of men, women and elderly. Many were left bruised following the attack as a result of kicks and punches. At this moment in time, it is unsure whether the Ukraine authority were expecting trouble prior to the game, as this is the first meeting between the two sides. The majority of the travelling Chelsea fans arrived yesterday, a day before the game.

Chelsea are yet to comment on the situation, however, they may choose to release a statement later today regarding last night’s actions. One fan explained the attacks to the reporters, he did not want to be named:

It was orchestrated. Five guys turned up at the pub and sussed us out. One was texting at the bar and they were obviously lying in wait to have a dig.
