Paul Merson is expecting a close affair at Upton Park when West Ham host Chelsea, and he expects the Hammers to make the Blues work hard for a 1-2 victory.
Jose Mourinho’s side are looking to make it back-to-back victories in the Premier League following the 2-0 win at Stamford Bridge over Tim Sherwood’s Aston Villa.
The West London club will be looking to gain some momentum in the league and start their surge towards the top of the league. After just nine games, the current champions are sitting in 12th place, 10 points behind Manchester City who are leading the way.
Despite a goalless draw in Ukraine in the Champions League on Wednesday against Dynamo Kiev, former Arsenal star and now Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson feels that the Blues will have too much for Slaven Bilic’s Hammers.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Merson said:
If I were Chelsea I’d be happy this game is at Upton Park, considering West Ham’s recent away form! This is still a hard game for Chelsea though, and they’re in a position where they must win as many games as possible. Each week they just have to tick each game off as it comes.
West Ham v Chelsea is on Saturday afternoon, with a 15:00pm kick off in the Premier League.
