Chelsea favourites to sign Wayne Rooney?

Sky Bet have made Chelsea favourites to sign Wayne Rooney before the 3rd September 2016, following growing concerns of his Manchester United future.

Chelsea have been priced at 7/1 to sign England’s top goalscorer after speculation grew regarding his future. Rooney is in a torrid run of form and has struggled up front this season.

Anthony Martial is now being preferred to the English upfront, the French striker enjoyed a fantastic start to his Manchester United career, to only be forced out wide by Louis Van Gaal.

Chelsea are ahead of Everton and PSG at 10/1 and Arsenal and Tottenham at 20/1.

This is not the first time however that Rooney has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge. When David Moyes took over at Old Trafford, Rooney was going through one of the toughest stages of his career, and it looked like the striker wanted out.

Jose Mourinho was keen according to Moyes, who revealed Rooney was ‘close’ to joining Chelsea.
