Shawcross given a years’ supply of deodorant

We all like a laugh don’t we? Well, Ryan Shawcross was yesterday handed a years’ supply of deodorant by Dove Men Care according to the Metro.

Speaking on BBC Radio Stoke, Shawcross accepted the gift, just days after his ‘smelly’ altercation with Chelsea’s Diego Costa. Stoke’s official Twitter account tweeted this photo of the defender yesterday.

After clashing with the defender, Costa took it upon himself to inform the former Manchester United defender on how he smelt. Shawcross saw the funnier side and his wife tweeted after the game, saying that she would make sure he kept using his deodorant.

Now, with Shawcross now fully stocked up on his smellies, we’re hoping this won’t ever happen again. Chelsea play Stoke at Stamford Bridge on Saturday 5th March, so remember to bring your spray, Ryan!

Shawcross commented on the situation and said:

Once you’ve got Costa concentrating on you rather than the game you’ve won the battle. I was pleased he was concentrating on me and just delighted to keep him quiet because he’s a fantastic player.

That moment was just one of Costa’s controversial moment after he was also reported by a steward for assault.
