Marco van Ginkel has expressed his disappointment at how parent club Chelsea have begun their season, finding themselves in 16th place after twelve matches.
Van Ginkel, 22, was sent out on loan by Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho after he felt as though the promising Dutch midfielder was not needed for the season ahead, as he joined Stoke on a deal for the whole season.
However, despite van Ginkel plying his trade this campaign at another Premier League club, he spoke of how he does not like to see his parent club struggling as they are and that he does still support the reigning champions.

Yes, I still support Chelsea, but now I am at Stoke. I feel disappointed with Chelsea’s recent results.
When asked about his plans for the future, van Ginkel insisted that his primary focus for the season ahead was to help Stoke achieve a strong finish. However, the Dutchman also stated that he was keen to return to Chelsea as a better player and to break into the first team under Jose Mourinho.
My aims for the season? To be important for Stoke, to play a lot of games and to be prepared to return to Chelsea next season.
Van Ginkel’s current club Stoke recently beat Chelsea in a 1-0 victory at the Britannia.
