Young midfielder linked with move to Chelsea

18-year-old midfielder Amadou Diawara, who is currently playing for Serie A side Bologna is a reported transfer target for Chelsea.

Italian publication Tuttomercatoweb have linked the youngster with a move to Jose Mourinho’s side, and Diawara is reportedly keen as he is eager to play Champions League football.

The likelihood is that if the Guinean did sign a contract at Chelsea, he’d be loaned out in order to get more regular first team football, especially as Chelsea are struggling this season.

An all-action defensive midfielder, Diawara has featured in all 12 of his side’s league games this season and is one of the most highly-rated youngsters currently playing in Italy.

The report suggests that a transfer fee of around £15million will be needed in order to get Bologna to sell their prized asset, and they are not in any rush to let him leave as he is under contract until 2020.
