Chelsea have been told to pay nothing less than £30m for Brazilian midfielder, Alex Teixeira from Shakhtar Donetsk in January, according to the Express.
The midfielder has been a long-term target for the Premier League champions after a number of impressive displays in the Champions League for the Ukrainian side.
Now, with the January transfer window just around the corner, it seems as if Chelsea will be in the market for a new striker. Radamel Falcao could have his loan cut short after failing to impress at Stamford Bridge and Loic Remy has failed to register a single Premier League goal this season.
To make matters worse, Diego Costa is hardly setting the world alight either.
If Chelsea did make a move for Teixeira, he would be cup-tied in the Champions League for the remainder of the season.
The report suggests a move could suit both parties, with Teixeira reportedly aware of Chelsea’s interest.
