The Express are reporting that La Liga side Atletico Madrid are considering potential replacements for French striker Antoine Griezmann, meaning Chelsea’s chances of signing the former Real Sociedad star have improved.
Last summer, the Blues expressed an interest in the striker, but to no avail. The Madrid club were simply not letting go of their man. Following their failure to capture Griezmann, Jose Mourinho’s side signed Pedro from Barcelona, but the Spaniard has struggled to cement his spot in the starting XI.
However, in another report by the Express last week, Chelsea are willing to re-enter battle with Atletico for their striker.
Despite the rumours of a move for Griezmann in January, Mourinho said in his press conference earlier today that he will not be asking the club’s board for more players, and is happy with what he has.

Reports from Spanish media outlet, Don Balon, suggest that Madrid would be willing to let go of Griezmann, if they can get their hands on the right replacement.
Chelsea might face battle for Griezmann from Bayern Munich, with reports suggesting that former Blue, Arjen Robben, could be heading for the departure door at the Bundesliga champions and could look to the French attacker as a replacement.
