Juan Cuadrado has revealed why he decided to head back to the Serie A from Chelsea, after failing to make an impact when he signed for the Blues back in January.
Following just six months at Stamford Bridge, Cuadrado showed no hesitancy when the offer appeared to head back to Italy and join champions Juventus on a season-long loan.
It cost the West London club £26.1m to sign the Colombian winger from fellow Serie A Fiorentina in a saga that lasted the majority of the last January window.
However, after several appearances and still to really proving himself, Cuadrado was influenced back to the Serie A, in a move which really appealed to him.
The idea of coming back to Italy attracted me a lot. I know the football here, I know the language and the people, and the truth is it feels like my second home.
In 10 appearances for the champions who, like Chelsea, are really struggling this season, Cuadrado has four assists to his name for the club from Turin, and it barely took him any time at all to settle.
When you already know the language and the people then it makes it a lot easier for you. And there being a lot of players from South America in the team – that also helps.
Coming to the team was no problem, it’s a great team with great players and great personalities, and they really embraced me in the best way possible.
