Both Gary Cahill and Branislav Ivanovic are waiting to find out whether or not they will be handed new deals at Chelsea according to the Guardian.
Cahill is under contract at Stamford Bridge until 2017 but is awaiting news as to whether he will receive fresh terms before his 30th birthday. The 29-year-old turns 30 on 19th December.
Chelsea run a very strict policy when it comes to handing out contracts to players who have entered their 30s.
John Terry is an example of a player who has been forced to earn his extensions rather than being tied down to a longer contract.
Cahill’s Serbian team-mate Ivanovic is still unsure whether or not he will be gifted a contract extension at Stamford Bridge following his poor form this season.

Ivanovic’s decline has been one of the talking points of the season after the right-back has looked a shadow of the player that has been so solid over recent seasons.
The 31-year-old’s contract expires in the summer.
