The Italian side, Lazio are reportedly looking to sign out-of-favour Chelsea defender, Papy Djilobodji on loan in January according to Calcio Mercato.
The Senegalese defender has barely played for Chelsea since joining on deadline day in the summer from the French side, FC Nantes for €5m
Djilobodji’s only appearance came in the final few minutes against Walsall in the League Cup.
Lazio are in the market for defensive reinforcements after Stefen de Vrij picked up an injury. Lazio President Claudio Lotito is now hoping to dip into the loan market.
The report suggests that a deal could be struck which includes a view to signing Djilobodji on a permanent basis at the end of the season for around €3.5m.
The 26-year-old was not signed by Jose Mourinho and has struggled at Chelsea, where he looks to be a step above his ability. Papy, as he is known by Chelsea fans, has also attracted interest from the Turkish side, Besiktas.
