We’ve made it to day three on the Read Chelsea advent calendar and today we look back at a very special goal, by a very special Brazilian.

The featured image above truly says it all. Who could possibly forget Oscar’s first Chelsea start? There is no better way to introduce yourself to your new fans than by scoring two goals inside two minutes in the Champions League in your new home stadium.
The Brazilian joined the Blues from Internacional for a reported fee of £19.35 million in the summer of 2012 and signed a five-year contract. Oscar joined a Chelsea side who were fresh off of winning the Champions League just a few months prior.

On 19th September 2012, Oscar made his first Chelsea start under the lights at Stamford Bridge against Juventus. In the 31st minute, the Brazilian’s deflected shot soared into the left corner, and Chelsea were 1-0 up.
Just two minutes later, Oscar scored a goal that still gives me goosebumps to this day. He received a pass with his back to goal and brilliantly turned around Andrea Pirlo with his first touch before unleashing an unstoppable curling effort that pounded the top right corner of the net, leaving goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon with no chance and catching the eye of football fans across the world.
The second goal won Oscar recognition as the scorer of Chelsea’s best goal of the 2012/2013 season.
Chelsea celebrated Oscar’s 24th birthday this past September by publishing a Vine of his memorable goal.
