Former Chelsea striker Gianluca Vialli has urged the club to sign another striker in January to support the struggling Diego Costa.
The Blues are in somewhat of a crisis at the moment which has largely stemmed from a lack of goals from the side’s frontmen, leaving them struggling for results.
A large part of this has been due to the lacklustre performances from Costa and the apparent fallout between the Spaniard and manager Jose Mourinho.
The former Atletico Madrid man has scored just two league goals this season and looks a shadow of the industrious forward that arrived in the Premier League a little over 15 months ago.
To make matters worse, Radamal Falcao and Loic Remy and have failed to deliver when called upon which has meant the goalless Eden Hazard has had to play as a makeshift striker in recent weeks.
Viallio who was speaking on BT Sport, according to Inside Futbol said:
If [Radamel] Falcao doesn’t improve, I think Chelsea should go out and find a striker.
They can play both in the Premier League and the Champions League and I think they need somebody to replace Diego Costa, when he is not fit.
Chelsea currently sit just two points above the bottom three and will be eager to spend big in January to improve their chances of finishing in the top four with Dortmund’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Leicester’s Jamie Vardy both linked with a move.
