Diego Costa has apologised to Jose Mourinho after throwing a bib in his direction against Tottenham and has also refused to rule out a Stamford Bridge exit.
The Spanish striker was reinstated into Mourinho’s starting XI on Wednesday night as Chelsea beat Porto 2-0 to qualify for the next stage of the Champions League.
Whilst his performance was certainly better, the 27-year-old still looked to be lacking the same confidence he had in his first season in London.

On the bib throwing action, Costa said:
The incident is in the past. I made a mistake, but my relationship with Mourinho is amazing and we get on really well.
There are things you need to control, but the bib thing was an impulse. I have to improve a bit. The start of the season has not been good for me – not in how I have played nor in goals.
After discussing Chelsea’s poor season so far, Costa then refused to rule out a move away from Chelsea and specifically to Atletico Madrid.
You never know (about a return to Atletico Madrid), look how well Filipe Luis is doing now. Life is full of surprises – I always wish Atletico the best and I always follow them and support them from afar.
As also reported by The Telegraph, Chelsea are looking to sign another striker in January to aid the manager’s options.

Even with a purchase, however, it appears Costa will be with the Blues until next summer at least.
Mourinho takes his side to table-topping Leicester City on Monday evening in what currently looks like a very tough fixture.
