Swansea join the race for Loic Remy

Swansea City are the latest team to join the race to sign Loic Remy on loan during the January transfer window.

According to the Mirror, the Welsh club have submitted a bid to sign the striker on loan, with a £1m loan fee. As well as the fee, Swansea have also offered to cover the striker’s wages in full.

Remy has struggled for any consistent minutes ever since joining Chelsea last season. This season he has rarely featured behind Diego Costa.

Swansea face competition to sign the striker, Crystal Palace and Newcastle are all thought to be interested in signing him too.

The club are currently managerless after the sacking of Garry Monk but look close to appointing, Marcelo Bielsa. His fellow countryman could be his first signing in Wales.

Remy may fancy his chances during the second half of the season with Chelsea set to appoint Guus Hiddink until the end of the season. The striker scored his first league goal after coming off the bench in Chelsea’s latest league defeat against Leicester.
