Young Chelsea goalkeeper, Jamal Blackman is training with Standard Liege, reportedly ahead of a possible loan move to the Belgian club.
The 22-year-old has found first-team opportunities hard to come by with Thibaut Courtois, Asmir Begovic and Marco Amelia, ahead of him in the pecking order.
As a result, Blackman has never played a competitive game for the Blues with his only senior appearance coming during a loan spell at Middlesbrough in 2014.
Part of the problem for the youngster has been Jose Mourinho’s notorious reluctance to bring through youth prospects which has left Blackman’s career largely in stagnation over the past few years.
This has been the case with many of the academy players at Chelsea with the likes of Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Dominic Solanke, also struggling to make a breakthrough.
However, with the Portuguese manager departing the club last week, Blackman and the other youngsters will be hoping that the Stamford Bridge club appoint a manager with more trust in the youth team.
