Former Chelsea striker and club legend Didier Drogba has urged interim manager Guus Hiddink to resign Romelu Lukaku, who was sold by Jose Mourinho in 2014.
According to the Daily Star, Drogba has spoken personally with Hiddink and urged the Dutchman to make Lukaku his first signing in January.

Drogba, who is currently playing for MLS outfit Montreal Impact, has been strongly linked with rejoining Chelsea as a member of their coaching staff and sat between Hiddink and Abramovich during last weekend’s 3-1 win over Sunderland at Stamford Bridge.
The Ivorian, who is a big fan of the Belgian striker, has remained close with Lukaku since their days at Stamford Bridge, and the Everton striker has credited Drogba for his fine run of form. Speaking to the Daily Star, he said:
Didier is my idol and he knows it. I still speak to him. He gives me tips all the time. Me and Didier, we have had a really special relationship since day one.
Speculation that Chelsea are in the market for a new striker has been fuelled by recent poor performances from Diego Costa, and reports suggest that Atletico Madrid are lining up a bid to bring the forward back to his old club. Even after his two goals against Watford on Saturday, Costa only has six goals in 25 appearances this season. The striker has also become unpopular at Stamford Bridge recently, as he has been targetted by Chelsea fans who blame him for the sacking of manager Jose Mourinho.

Lukaku, in comparison, is having a far better season. The Belgian has 16 goals so far this term, and also became the first Everton player to score in eight successive games since 1954.
He played just three times under Jose Mourinho during his time at Chelsea, and they were all as a substitute before he was shipped off to Everton for £28 million. If rumours are to be believed, Chelsea would have to spend £32 million to re-sign their former striker in January, as the Blues look for a spark to reignite their poor season.
