Chelsea struggled to a 0-0 draw last night at Old Trafford and Jamie Carragher believes the current Premier League champions looked like relegation contenders according to the Daily Mail.
After Norwich beat Aston Villa earlier in the day, the Blues started the game in 16th place but with Bournemouth losing, the draw lifted Chelsea up to 14th in the Premier League table as their nightmare season continues.
Carragher said:
It would have been a travesty had Chelsea snatched a winning goal but, as well as Manchester United played, I’d say they will still be disappointed not to have collected three points.
Guus Hiddink deployed Eden Hazard as a lone striker last night in a performance that very much reminded you of a Jose Mourinho side. Chelsea sat deep and let Manchester United attack with the hope of hitting them on the counter-attack.
The former Liverpool defender added:
Chelsea for 45 minutes actually looked like a team fighting relegation. They were there for the taking and it was so easy for United to play through them.

Chelsea’s best chance of the game came on a quick counter-attack from Pedro, who slotted a ball through to Nemanja Matic who had the entire United half to run into, only hit the ball high and wide.
After the draw, Carragher said Chelsea will struggle to finish in the top eight:
When things were going badly at the start of the season, I still expected Chelsea to finish in the top four, now I am thinking they will struggle to get into the top eight.
The next game for Chelsea comes in the form of Alan Pardew’s Crystal Palace, who beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge earlier in the season.
