Just when Chelsea thought they were getting their third choice striker back, Radamel Falcao has been hit with another injury blow.
According to the Mail Online, Falcao has suffered an injury to his thigh which will put his recovery back another 10 days. The Colombian had returned to training in a hope to regain his fitness.
Chelsea boss Guus Hiddink has explained the striker’s latest injury:
We had him in a game and he had this injury again that he had before, on the inside of his thigh, he is back to square one, I think so. He’s in treatment at the moment. He cannot appear on the pitch.
Hiddink added:
He was out and our medical staff tried to build him up, and he had a setback which is not always a positive signal. We hope within 10 days he might be fit again – but not to play.

This latest injury could hinder the club’s plans to offload the striker in January. The loan move has not worked out for either party, with the Premier League champions ready to send Falcao back to his parent club, AS Monaco.
The move is a complicated one, Monaco will only accept cutting the loan short if they can find another club for the striker, to avoid paying his massive £265,000 a week wages in full.
With Chelsea paying half of his wages, cutting the loan deal short could free up room for another striker to come into the club or hand Patrick Bamford a chance in the first-team.
