Former Chelsea coach, Ray Wilkins believes that the Premier League champions are playing with more passion, but says they will not make the top four this season.
Speaking to talkSPORT, the morning after the Blues’ 3-0 victory at Selhurst Park, Wilkins ruled out the chances of qualifying for the Champions League but admits his former side are on the up.
He said:
I don’t think it is possible, personally, I think somewhere along the line there will come the odd defeat.
Chelsea jump up to 14th in the Premier League after their disastrous start to the season under Jose Mourinho.

Sunday’s victory was only their sixth of the season, and only their second away win. Under Guus Hiddink, Chelsea have won twice, as well as grab two draws against Watford and Manchester United respectively.
Wilkins added:
But they have been playing with a little bit more of a spirit – you could see that yesterday – and when they are firing they are one football team. I thought Chelsea were absolutely outstanding [at Crystal Palace].
Chelsea are now six points away from the drop zone as they attempt to build on their good form since Hiddink’s arrival. The club are however, 13 points behind London rivals, Tottenham, who currently occupy fourth spot in the Premier League.
