Bringing Drogba back will be difficult says Hiddink

Chelsea boss Guus Hiddink has warned the Blues’ fans that the potential return of club legend Didier Drogba as a member of his coaching staff would be a harder deal to arrange than what was first anticipated, according to the Evening Standard.

The experienced Dutchman has recently revealed that there have been complications in the deal with Montreal Impact, the club at which Drogba’s contract currently lies with, due to the inability to extricate the striker from his ongoing contract at the MLS outfit.

Drogba is under contract with Montreal Impact – we have to respect that. It is up to the clubs. We have to respect this contract.

The 37-year-old’s return to Chelsea would be a major lift to both the squad and fans, as the forward was well loved by everyone associated with the club due to his achievements at Stamford Bridge. The Ivorian powerhouse scored 164 times during his tenure at the club, as well as winning all the major honours available to him, including the historic Champions League winning penalty.

However, due to there being a year remaining on his deal at Montreal, it is looking highly unlikely due to Drogba’s parent club being keen on him playing out his current deal.
