John Terry is ready to extend his contract in the search for more success at Chelsea according to the Evening Standard.
The defender, who wrote all the headlines over the weekend following his dramatic last-minute equaliser at home to Everton, believes he still has plenty to give to the football club.
Terry is in the final year of his contract, and now he is allowed to speak to foreign clubs, with the possibility of securing a summer deal. There’s not been a shortage of interest either if reports are to be believed, teams in China, Turkey and the MLS are keen to sign the Chelsea skipper.
After making his 700th club appearance on Saturday, Terry reveals he still has plenty left in the tank.
I certainly think so. When you get to a certain age, there are a lot of people out there who think ‘he’s 35, going on 36 and maybe his legs have gone’. But I have never had legs, it’s as simple as that.
I have never been quick all my career. For me it’s lazy journalism from everyone. It just gets in their heads. But physically, I probably feel as good as I’ve ever felt in the last two or three years. I’m in the right state of mind. I’m still hungry. I want to win and finish my career here.

The Chelsea captain is yet to agree on a new deal at Stamford Bridge, despite a new contract looking imminent for Branislav Ivanovic, who is also in his last year.
Terry added:
But I’m not thinking of that. Last year, it was a couple of months from now before things got sorted. For me the most important thing is to get us out of this and up the league table.
