Interim Chelsea manager Guus Hiddink, according to the Evening Standard, has implied he intends to turn to youth and give young talent a chance to perform consistently in the first team until May.
Hiddink has already stamped his youthful intentions clear since coming into the club as Jose Mourinho’s predecessor for the rest of 2015/16 season, by bringing Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Kenedy into the team.
Between the two of them, Loftus-Cheek and Kenedy have 11 appearances in all competitions for this season and have rewarded the new Chelsea boss for his belief by solid performances. None more so than by Loftus-Cheek scoring in spectacular fashion against Scunthorpe United in the Blues’ 2-0 win in the FA Cup.

This success has led to Hiddink’s decision to now start considering his youth team starlets for the first-team, to give them precious experience before his tenure is over in May 2016.
However, they must all show that they can keep up with the pace and demands of the Premier League. In an interview with the Chelsea magazine he stated:
After being here for a few weeks now I have a better view, a better analysis of young players as well, after seeing them in training… if one is knocking on the door, maybe – but I don’t give any guarantees – we can see one or two players playing by May.
Hiddink also praised the Dutch league for being a perfect destination for young Chelsea players to develop and enhance their skills.
Chelsea began the season by sending over 30 players on loan, many heading to the Eredivisie. Players including Lewis Baker, Nathan and Isaiah Brown who both are currently on loan at Vitesse Arnhem, and rising star Todd Kane, who signed for NEC Nijmegen.
Hiddink commented:
Players are professionally treated – it is of a lower level and it is good for them, when they are at a young age, to play many games – that is good for experience.
