Harry Redknapp has once again hit out at Chelsea after suggesting French striker Loic Remy has wasted two years of his career by moving to Chelsea from Queens Park Rangers in 2014.
Redknapp also hit the headlines last week after doubting Chelsea’s new loan signing Alexandre Pato. Today the Mirror reported that Redknapp told Talksport:
He’s wasted two years of his career. He’s not got in the Chelsea team, he’s been very much a bit-part player.
Remy, 29, joined from QPR after an impressive loan spell with Newcastle United. However, he has struggled to get into the team, after an impressive campaign last season from controversial forward Diego Costa.
Although Chelsea have struggled this season, many questioned Remy’s place in the team after falling down the pecking order behind Chelsea flop Radamel Falcao at one point this season.

Yesterday looked to be the end of Remy’s Chelsea nightmare as he was strongly linked with a move to Premier League leaders Leicester City, however the deal fell through due to Atletico Madrid’s potential interest in bringing Falcao back to the Vicente Calderón.
He needs to play somewhere because at the moment he comes on for ten minutes at the end of the game and it’s no use to the boy.
Remy has featured just 16 times this season, even after a poor start to the season by Costa. The arrival of Pato from Corinthians could push Remy further down the pecking order, so the bit part performances Redknapp describes could be the only glimpse we see of the Frenchman.
This year could be vital for Remy, with the European Championships growing ever closer. He’ll hope to impress manager Guus Hiddink to give him the opportunity to play for his country in June.
