Guus Hiddink returned to Chelsea in a temporary move to steady the ship after Jose Mourinho was sacked as a result of a disastrous start to the Blues campaign.
While Chelsea remain unbeaten under Hiddink, there are strong rumours that owner Roman Abramovich will continue to scour the world to identify the next man to take the Chelsea throne.
With the likes of Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp coming to the Premier League, the level of competition has never been higher and the pressure is on for the Londoners to pick the right man to usher in a new era of success.
Here are five managers we think will be candidates for the job come this summer.
Antonio Conte
Antonio Conte is one of the favourites for the job and for good measure.
The current Italy manager enjoyed unprecedented success as he restored Juventus back to the top of the Italian game.
Conte masterminded three back-to-back Serie A titles in Turin and has won many plaudits for his tactical versatility and his ability to bond players together with a winning mentality.
Massimiliano Allegri
The man who took over from Conte, Massimo Allegri has picked up where his predecessor left off.
Allegri guided the Old Lady to a domestic double and fell just short of the treble after losing to Barcelona in the Champions League final.
Despite being sacked by AC Milan in the past, Allegri has overcome the losses of Andrea Pirlo, Carlos Tevez and Arturo Vidal at Juve and has his team looking as dangerous as ever.
Diego Simeone
Diego Simeone is one of the fans favourites to take the job at Stamford Bridge and has been likened by many to have a similar managerial style to Jose Mourinho.
The fiery Argentine is known his well trained and disciplined sides and his success at the helm of Atletico Madrid resulted in a famous La Liga championship in 2014, despite the dominance and financial muscle of Barcelona and Real Madrid, however, his defensive style may not impress all.
Didier Deschamps
The former Chelsea player is currently in charge of France but could be tempted to return to his former club.
Deschamps enjoyed a successful spell in charge of Marseille, where he established them back into a French footballing powerhouse, winning the league in 2010 and the French League Cup three years in a row.
Expectations are high in France ahead of Euro 2016 and if Deschamps delivers, he could see himself in high demand.
Mauricio Pochettino
The Spurs boss has worked wonders at White Hart Lane and it would be very difficult to tempt the Argentine to leave for pastures new.
The combination of organisation and work rate within his team has seen Tottenham enjoy success in the Premier League.
Given the fact that Pochettino is a proven commodity in the league, Abramovich could offer the 43 year old a blank cheque book to cross London and join the Blues.
At Spurs, there is a risk of his best players being poached and that as well as the fantastic youth academy at Chelsea could be enough to convince him.
