Chelsea target drops a hint about his future

Paris Saint-Germain defender Marquinhos, a reported target of Chelsea, has admitted that he will consider his future in the French capital at the end of the season.

With Thiago Silva and David Luiz ahead of him in the pecking order at PSG, the Brazilian could well look to move elsewhere as he seeks regular first team football and with Chelsea captain John Terry set to leave the club, he’d certainly have a chance of earning a regular place with the Blues.

Speaking about his future, Marquinhos told Le Parisien:

[Is] My future is in Paris? At the moment, yes. But I can only speak of the present. For now, I’m in Paris. Everyone knows you have to have a reflection at the end of the season. We’ll talk about the objectives of the club and of me personally. Right now, I try to be professional. I try to work to win my place and to have playing time. We’ll see how the season will finish. Afterwards, there will be a reflection.

Of course, the London club do not yet have a permanent manager in place for next season, but that has not stopped players being linked with a move to the club as the recruitment team carry on with their work.

Kurt Zouma and Gary Cahill are likely to still be with Chelsea next season, so it would be up to the new man in charge to decide if he would prefer to replace either with Marquinhos.
