According to the Guardian, Chelsea are still looking to keep hold of Dominic Solanke, despite his wage demands.
Solanke’s step-father is currently trying to work out a 50k-per-week deal for his step-son at Chelsea. This is despite the fact Solanke is only currently on 7k-per-week and has yet to feature in a Premier League match for the Blues.
The striker is currently out on loan at Vitesse in the Dutch league and has scored seven times in 22 games. He has impressed in Holland and there has been speculation over his future at Chelsea.
The 18-year-old will have just one year left on his current contract at the end of the season and there are other clubs sniffing around the very talented young striker.

Despite the extortionate demands of Solanke’s negotiator, Chelsea are desperate to hold on to him as they see him as a future first-team star. Chelsea’s FA Youth Cup winning coach, Joe Edwards, said this about Solanke’s situation.
The relevant people working as part of Dom’s development programme will sit down and discuss what is best for him once he has finished up at Vitesse Arnhem.
But he’s definitely one of the boys we’ve got high hopes for and, hopefully, whether it’s this coming season or further down the line, he’ll be one [who makes his mark at Chelsea]. I think there are several who can. And we saw with Marcus Rashford at Manchester United that you won’t see properly what they can do until you put him in.
Joe Edwards took charge of Chelsea’s U18s last night as they won the FA Youth Cup for the third successive year. It was his last match in charge of the side before he becomes a liaison for loan players next season.
