Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic is reportedly close to leaving the club to join Italian giants Juventus in a £20million move, according to a report from Tony Banks of The Express.
The Serbian international was one of the best players during the title winning season of 2014/15 but his form, like that of some of his teammates, has been really poor during the current campaign.
According to the report, talks between Chelsea, Juventus and Matic’s representatives have been taking place for over a week and the Turin-based club are confident that they are close to securing a deal.
By selling the 27-year-old, Chelsea will pick up around £20million, and new boss Antonio Conte will be hoping to use that cash to bring in some of his own players as he looks to turn around the club after one of the worst title defences in Premier League history.
There are expected to be quite a few players leaving Stamford Bridge this summer and it looks like Matic could be the first.
