Chelsea are in advanced talks to sign striker Gonzalo Higuain from Napoli, according to a report in Spanish outlet AS from Guillem Balague.
Balague says that the Blues have made a bid of £38million for the 28-year-old and they are hopeful that it’ll be accepted.
The Argentinian international has been in sensational form for the Serie A side, scoring 35 goals in 41 games in all competitions.
However, it isn’t all good news in terms of transfers for Chelsea fans as Balague thinks that Higuain is being signed to replace Diego Costa.
According to the report, the Spanish international is finding it hard to adjust to life in England and he could be sold back to Atletico Madrid for around £24million, which would go a long way towards covering the cost of Higuain.
Radamel Falcao’s loan move to Stamford Bridge will not be made permanent and Loic Remy could leave in search of regular football, so a lot of changes should be expected in the Chelsea striker department.
