Chelsea are interested in signing Danish international defender Simon Kjaer from Fenerbahce, according to a report in Turkish outlet Fanatik.
The 27-year-old only moved to Turkey from French club Lille in July last year for around £6million but after impressing in his sole season for Vítor Pereira’s side, Chelsea are apparently keen on bringing him to the Premier League.
Fenerbahce were recently reprimanded for breaching UEFA’s fair play rules and could well sell Kjaer in order to help balance the books somewhat to avoid further breaches in the future.

The Danish defender played 44 times for the Turkish club last season, as part of the best defence in the Super Lig, so Fenerbahce will not be ultra-keen to let him leave.
Kjaer has played in the top divisions in France, Italy, Germany and Turkey so could well like to add England to that list, although he’d have to accept a season without European football if he did move to Chelsea.
